Forest Brothers is on sale at all bookshops!!!

It’s been a busy week or so, promoting the novel ‘Forest Brothers’. I have needed to think hard about how to market. I have a minor experience from the traumatic time I spent as a Bank manager (!), but it is an interesting eye-opener to the publishing world how you have to at least help carve your own destiny as a writer.

I have been talking to newspapers, radio stations and societies. Seeing how I can get the book promoted. Now don’t get me wrong here, my publisher is not idle. She talks to the bookshop chains about stocking, she goes to book fairs to get foreign rights or distribution. It’s being attacked at both ends. The message for budding authors is simple. Writing the book, editing the book, providing the finished article. Great! It’s a marathon. But the journey doesn’t stop there. people are interested, they want to know about it. It’s your baby, you have to make the effort to be there to let them know it exists.

Funnily enough, I was asked last night, which was more painful – publishing a book or running a marathon? I said running the marathon involved real pain, although both involved a lengthy struggle to a final goal.

The novel is now available at all good outlets, especially this website! So your options for purchase are:

  1. Click on the shop on this website
  2. Click on the www.circaidygregory.co.uk website and order through there.

Both of these come with the option of the e-book being free with the paperback, if required. Or…

  1. Go to or order from your local bookshop
  2. Order using an online bookshop of choice

You should be able to get the novel wherever you are on this planet, as long as you have a postbox or an e-mail address!

Thanks to the 40-odd people who came to the Book launch last night. It was great fun, even if I was a tad nervous at the start. I hope to see more of you in Cardiff on the 13th April – 2.45 at Llandaff Cathedral Hall. It doesn’t clash with any rugby!!!

Stuck in a limbo and desperate to do something meaningful, what to do? That is where writing began for me. A creative way of expressing myself and a chance to harness my wondering imagination. I close my eyes and I'm there. Wish I'd picked 'there' as a warm sunny day on a sandy beach, with the waves gently lapping on the shore...but I have to let the story load in my mind, then watch it unfold, wherever it may be. Currently I'm on a windy bridge, or a Devon beach, or a Cornish tin mine, or a submarine, or looking towards a Hebridean port...
